SIRI is an updated version of the 1890's canoe yawl IRIS. That the design has been capturing imaginations for more than a century is a testament to her many charms. She is a versatile, safe, easy and beautiful boat.
VERSATILITY: SIRI is big enough to camp cruise two and small enough to solo. She can day-sail a family or two couples comfortably. She is an 18' cold-molded center-boarder with a relatively flat bottom, making her ideal for trailoring to cruising grounds far from her home port.
SAFETY: The designs 2:1 displacement to outside ballast ratio will keep SIRI on her feet in a blow, and Doug has designed her with fore and aft airtight compartments to make her unsinkable in a capsize. The simple, low aspect standing lug rig makes her easy to handle, and quick to reef.
EASE: SIRI's cold-molded hull with Awlgrip finish, inside and out, minimizes hull maintenance. An optional teak package can be added to eliminate varnishing trim.
BEAUTY: While beauty is certainly in the eye of the beholder, SIRI seems to break more than her fair share of hearts.
